Student Voice Campaign
SIAC started this campaign in order to strengthen the presence of student voice in the PUSD.
Part 1 of Our Vision: Communication
SIAC reaches out to the student body once a month in order to increase communication between the council and the student population.
Each month, the council follows three steps as part of its outreach to the student body.
Step 1: Choose a Topic - At monthly council meetings, SIAC members select a topic (e.g. student stress, the bell schedule, etc.) and formulate a question or set of questions that they would like to ask their peers.
Step 2: Collect Feedback - On a scheduled day each month, all SIAC members wear their SIAC T-shirts to school and collect students' answers to the question(s) via a Google Form.
Step 3: Share Feedback - At the following council meeting, SIAC members review all the feedback that was collected and brainstorm actions to take based on the responses.
Part 2 of Our Vision: Action
SIAC created a feedback system to implement at school sites in the PUSD in order to provide students with the opportunity to give anonymous feedback to the council about any issue at any time. This system is currently in place at two high schools in the district, and SIAC is working to expand the system to every secondary school site by the end of the 2017-2018 school year.
