Pleasanton SIAC had a rewarding retreat on Friday, July 29, 2016! Students had the opportunity to get to know each other by playing icebreaker games and team-building activities.

SIAC students played a game called "Where the Wind Blows" to get to know each other. The retreat brought together students from all three middle schools (Hart, Harvest Park, and Pleasanton) and high schools (Amador Valley and Foothill) in the PUSD.
During the retreat, members dined at the New York Pizza restaurant in downtown Pleasanton and discussed goals for the upcoming school year. Past members reflected on the successes of last school year, including the council's involvement in the school calendar change, student participation at Common Core Cohort meetings, and SIAC's positive relationship with district personnel, including the Interim Superintendent. New members spoke about future aspirations for the club, as well as potential activities that can bring more people together and raise more awareness about the importance of student voice. All in all, the retreat was a fantastic start for Pleasanton SIAC! Members are excited for the first council meeting in late August. Stay connected for updates!
